That was the intention, probably.
They are the winners.
But he’s not really sure of that, with Duo jumping beside him with each burst of light that splits apart the night sky. He too has to keep himself under strict control not to duck, and cower, their sound just too similar to swarms of heavy bullets chasing him, charges exploding all around.
And yet even covering his ears wouldn’t work, since the worst thing are those blazing brilliant trails, bright with gold and green and red.
Tracers in the outer space, turning the eternal night into day for a split moment. He closes his eyes, but he should gouge them out to erase the luminous ghosts of the fireworks from the back of his eyelids.
There’s no sound in space, every tragedy is silent under the eyes of the stars.
But they’re on Earth, he’s not trapped into a Gundam cockpit.
